Congratulations to everyone who took part in the ‘1000 Hours’ colour your world with kindness project – we were the winning school with the greatest numbers of logged hours volunteered out of all of the participants in Ashford and the surrounding areas!
The 1000 Hours team will be coming back to award us with a trophy! I am very proud of us all as this was not about what we would gain but what we could sacrificially give to others. On the same theme, Year 5 had a really successfully visit to Eldercare in the village this week. They shared their work and chatted to the elderly people there about what they were up to but also about how schooling has changed and the history of the village.
We have had many positive comments back about the pupils’ behaviour, confidence in speaking and delightful manners. It is lovely to be building deeper and more meaningful relationships with our community.
Thank you to the Caracals!
